Science Week in Second Class

13th Nov 2020

We had so much fun doing experiments during Science week!

Firstly we investigated how soap works. We had a plate of water and pepper (germs). We discovered that when we put washing up liquid on our finger and then put it into the water the pepper/germs were repelled (moved away)!

Next we learned about how important our heart is. We discovered how to take our pulse and then investigated how our pulse increases/decreases depending on how active we are. We also discovered that different animals have different heart rates too.

We had great fun carrying out static electricity experiments with our balloons. It felt like magic!

After that we discovered how plants drink water by putting celery in water with food colouring!

We watched some videos of Mystery Doug where we discovered new science facts about the world around us.

Lastly we created a bouncy egg by putting it in vinegar for a few days! It completely dissolved the shell!

We all had so much fun!
