'Caught ag Caint'- promoting informal Gaeilge outside the classroom
Over the past two weeks, we have been making a really big effort to speak Gaeilge Neamhfhoirmiúil (informal Irish) outside the classroom-starting on the yard. Any boys and girls 'Caught ag caint' on the yard are awarded a sticker for their class. Each class has a space on a board on the yard where the sticker count can build up for the use of Gaeilge on the yard. At the end of every week, each class total is added up and a leaderboard is formed. At the end of the 'Caught ag Caint' programme, the two classes (one class from Junior infants-2nd class and one class from 3rd-6th class) with the most stickers collected will win a pizza party for their class. Best of luck to all classes and Go raibh maith agat to Ms. McGrath and our Coiste na Gaeilge for helping to organise and oversee it.
