Dublin ‘Buzz’ Visitors

18th May 2026

A big thank you to Paul and Irwin for visiting us in school today. They are Dublin bus engineers who have trained as beekeepers as part of the 'Dublin Buzz' initiative, and they look after the bees at the Phibsborough and Broadstone bus depots. They visited 3rd and 4th classes today with a portable honey bee hive. The students had the opportunity to see the bees busy at work and to learn more about how the beekeepers stay safe while extracting the honey. They even got to taste some of the delicious honey and learn all about how import the role that bees play in pollination is for our environment.
