Santry Sports’ track and field finals- 26th of May

26th May 2026

On Tuesday, 26th of May, 23 of our 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils headed to the Cumann na mbunscoil Santry Athletics finals in Morton Stadium, Santry. They represented the school in the 80m individual sprint, 4 by 100m sprint and the 600m finals.

The boys and girls were very well behaved and performed admirably in very difficult conditions for all of the competitors.

Our U-12 (Adithyan) and U-14 (Kalvin) boys came 5th and 4th in their individual sprint heats respectively. Victoria (U-12) and Katherine (U-14) came 5th in their individual girls’ heats.

khaleel (U-14 600m) came 8th overall in the 600m final. It was a very close finish between 7th and 8th.

In the relay races, our U-12 boys’ U-12 and girls’ teams came 5th in their heats respectively with our girls U-14 team coming 5th in their heat.

Having started off extremely well in the first leg of the boys U-14 heat (with Nijush leading at the end of his leg) the boys found the corners and baton transfer a little difficult but came a very creditable 4th (very close to 3rd place) in their heat.

Thanks to Ms. McGrath and our staff helpers who prepared the boys and girls for the finals. To Ms. Mahon and Ms. Dennehy for their assistance on the day. Thanks also to Ms. Horan for her tips and guidance. Congratulations to the boys and girls who performed as well as they could and represented the school with pride and distinction.
