For the past number of months, our 6th class piano pupils have been preparing for an informal piano recital in Ranelagh, overseen and supported by their fabulous piano teacher Maki Matui (from the Dublin International Piano Competition outreach programme). It was their first time performing in public outside of the school on a grand piano in the company of many of Maki's other piano students.
Despite the potential for nerves, our three 6th class pupils (Stella, Antonia and Ionela) performed very confidently and were a credit to themselves, their families and the school. They have worked very hard with Stella, Antonia and Ionela performing solo pieces and Antonia and Ionela performing a duet.
We would like to sincerely thank our wonderful piano teacher Maki, who we have been so lucky to call one of our staff members over the past two years. She has also conducted piano workshops with a number of classes over the past year and a half and is a popular member of our external staff.
Thanks to the parents/guardians of our three girls for their support and a special word of congratulations to our wonderful pupils who should be really proud of their achievement this evening. We hope that they continue their piano studies into the future.
