This week in 6th class, we have been learning about the different renewable and non-renewable energy sources in Ireland and how to live more sustainably. We explored the use of wind energy and its advantages and disadvantages. The pupils then worked in groups to construct boats, made out of recycled materials and investigated which boat could sail the fastest based on it’s design using wind energy (a hairdryer). Great fun was had!
