It was a windy Sunday afternoon when our school choir (along with their choral directors, Ms. Kirrane, Ms. Dignam and Ms. McCabe) undertook the relatively short trip to the RDS to participate in the much anticipated Peace Proms debut.
We joined over 2100 boys and girls and the 80 piece Cross Border orchestra to perform a range of songs from ‘Pompeii’ by Bastille to ‘We are one’ by Wild Youth.
The boys and girls sang beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed the day out.
We would to sincerely thank all of our wonderful boys and girls who have worked so hard during Thursday mornings rehearsals (starting at 8am!!) for the past number of months.
We are so grateful to have our three wonderful choral directors (Ms. Kirrane, Ms. Dignam and Ms. McCabe) guiding and supporting them over that time. Thanks also to our amazing parents who have supported their children in preparation for the huge event on Sunday- an occasion the boys and girls will never forget.
We now look towards preparing for our Sacraments (Confirmation and Communion) in March and May respectively and also a collaboration with Stanhope Street choir in May.
Of course, our choir will also be heavily involved in our school musical ‘Shine’ which will take place in St. Peter’s hall on the 30th of April, 1st and 2nd of May 2024.
Our Parents’ Association Committee will be seeking parental volunteers soon in preparation for the school musical.
