Milky Fireworks Experiment

6th class created milky fireworks when they investigated how washing up liquid interacts with the fat molecules in milk. They discovered that when soap is added to milk, it begins to separate the water molecules from the fat molecules in the milk. As the soap molecules connect with the fat molecules, the food colouring is pushed across the surface of the milk, creating beautiful milky fireworks displays.
