September/October News

19th Oct 2020

September and October have been very busy and fun in second class! We all really missed school and settled back with ease.

Here are some photos of the fun things we were getting up to and learning about!

In English we read reports about the rainforest and rainforest animals. We wrote our news, recounts, and autumn acrostic poems. Our word wall is nearly full with new words! We are brilliant at our spellings.

In maths we have been revising our tables- doubles, near doubles, bonds (to 10, 20 and 100) We were also learning how to round to the nearest ten and use the greater/less than symbol. We are getting very fast at counting in 10s, 5s, and 2s.

In Irish we have been learning about “Mé féin” and “Ar scoil.”

In SESE we learned about Dublin, our family tree, the skeleton, the food pyramid, Thomas Edison, schools in the past and schools around the world.
