St. Peter’s awarded €802 through the Tesco Community Fund

30th Jan 2024

We were absolutely delighted to be presented with a cheque for €802 by Lauren Byrne as part of the Tesco Community Fund. Many thanks to all of our parents and local community members who supported us over the past 12 weeks. See details about the Tesco Community Fund below.

The Tesco Community Fund was launched in July 2014, to support local good causes in the communities around each of our 166 stores throughout Ireland. Every 12 weeks, each Tesco store donates up to €2,000 between three local good causes in its community.
If you'd like to nominate a local cause to receive a donation from the Community Fund, you can do so here

Customers decide how their local Tesco Community Fund is shared by voting for their preferred cause in store by placing the blue token they receive at the checkout in the donation box of the local good cause they would most like to support.

Then, at the end of the 12 weeks, the number of tokens is counted and up to €2,000 is distributed proportionally between three local good causes. The more tokens a local good cause gets the larger share of the donation they receive.

Since 2014, thanks to your help, we have supported over 23,000 community projects nationwide - including schools, animal shelters, sports groups, elderly care centres, health organisations and much more - with over €7 million in donations
