Stoneybatter Festival 2023

Dubliners; An Interpretation by 5th Class.

We were invited to create an art project for the Stoneybatter festival. Our brief was James Joyce and Dublin 7.

This was easy for us, because this year in History we studied the Golden Age of Irish literature; becoming familiar with such household names as James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, WB Yeats and Samuel Beckett.

Having had a discussion on – not – judging a book by its cover in our English lessons, we decided to play with this idea and create an art project on the titles of James Joyce’s short stories; Dubliners. Having never read them, we picked a title each, and let our imaginations run wild.
