Well being Week- Friendship Friday- parental coffee morning (with guest speaker John Lonergan) and wellbeing assemblies
On Friday, 13th of February to mark the end of wellbeing week, we were absolutely thrilled to welcome John Lonergan (the former governor of Mountjoy Prison) into the school for our parental coffee morning. John had those fortunate parents and staff members in stitches as he recounted tales from his own experience of life and being a parent.
He encourage to be as positive as possible with our children; to try to build up their self-esteem as much as we can; to provide a listening ear and encourage them to feel comfortable enough to talk to us. He also focused on the importance of developing a love for reading at a young age- a gift they will have forever. Finally, he suggested that we avoid comparing children with their siblings or with others.
It was a lovely morning. We thank John for his presence, to Gemma (HSCL) for organising his talk and the parents/guardians who attended the coffee monring.
