Well being week (Safer Internet Day, staff wellness, pupil wellness trips, whole school assembly and Amber Flag application process begins)

10th Feb 2023

Over the course of the past week, we have engaged in activities to heighten health, wellness, positive self-esteem, physical activity, a sense of belonging and connection and an awareness of those in need.

A range of activities took place as part of well-being week. We kicked off the week with Safer Internet Day on the 7th of February. We organised a poster competition with the winners announced during our whole school assembly on the 10th. Our winners can be seen earlier this week in the news section of the website.

Each class went on additional trips outside the school to promote physical activity.

All teachers were released for breaks during the day on the 7th of February and had an additional treat after school on the 8th.

Our whole school assembly on Friday, 10th recognised all of our groups, clubs, committees, mentors and staff involved with our wide range of after school activities.

Our school choir also performed on the 10th and the whole school rounded off the assembly with a powerful rendition of   Coldplay’s Sky Full of Stars in preparation for our prayer service in honour of Aoife Donegan (our former colleague) on the 24th of February.

We raised over €500 for Pieta House as part of our Amber Flag application process. Thanks to Ms. Hughes, Mr. McConigley and all the staff and students for making well-being week so successful.
